Newton Unified School District 373 serves approximately 3,700 Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students in Newton, North Newton, Walton and surrounding rural areas. Newton Public Schools include an early education center, five elementary schools, a 5/6 grade center, one middle school, and one high school, which includes a Career & Technical Education department offering career pathway courses to Newton and surrounding area students.  Additionally, a high school diploma completion program is available through the Harvey County Learning Center. USD 373 is the sponsoring district for the Harvey County Special Education Cooperative, which serves over 900 special needs students in 3 school districts. Newton Public Schools are the second largest employer in Harvey County and the largest in the City of Newton.
