- AMBASSADORS/MEMBERSHIP DEV. & RETENTION
Goal Statement: To continue to grow membership while strengthening relationships with current members. Serve as hosts at Chamber events and promote Chamber good-will throughout the community.
Meetings: monthly, 4th Tuesday at Noon. Location TBA
Action Steps: Support the Membership Services Director in membership recruitment, and the retention of current members.
- NEWTON CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT PROGRAM
Advisory Council made up of chairs of Promotion committees, CEO of the Chamber, City of Newton representative, Chamber board member and Chamber staff coordinator for the program.
Staff Coordinator: Pam Stevens and Dyan Roberson
Action Steps: To coordinate the different ad hoc and task forces and events set-up by the advisory council. Marketing & Strategy, Image Building, Retail/Business Promotion, Special Events.
- LEADERSHIP NEWTON COUNCIL
It’s imperative that a community have ample and quality leaders with leadership skills for the 21st century. The Newton Area Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership program is the impetus behind fulfilling that community need. This annual program open to the membership and community at large provides leadership skills development training for adults and youth. Contact the Chamber office for more information.
- NEWTON YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
The Vision of the NYP is: Personally and professionally connected young professionals involved in leadership roles for the benefit of the community.
The Mission of the NYP is: To provide opportunities for networking, community involvement and growth for young professionals and businesses in the Newton areaMeetings: Monthly on the 2nd Thursday at noon.

- GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
Goal Statement: Increase involvement and action in local, county and state legislative issues that impact business and commerce.

Action Steps: Develop legislative priorities. Host legislative forums for candidates local and state. Host legislative session (open to public) during legislative sessions. Meet September thru May.

In order to ensure continued economic vitality, task forces are created to give attention to various priorities from business attraction and retention to planning for the annual banquet.
